Life is Found in Connection
The brokenness of the world is real, but God entered our brokenness in the person of Christ. He then commanded us to do the same:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35
About
At Connection Point, our passion is to help people connect to God and each other. We strive to do this in two ways.
Equipping Others to Overcome Life’s Challenges
We all struggle with obstacles and difficult situations in our lives, but we don’t always feel like we have the tools to get through them. Connection Point counselors are certified, biblically-trained, and wholly committed to helping clients overcome any personal and/or interpersonal challenges they may be facing. We offer virtual or in-person counseling to best meet the needs of each client. Not sure if biblical counseling is right for you? Learn more about what an appointment with one of our counselors looks like.
Equipping Others for Kingdom Work
Connection Point also has a heart for “equipping the equippers.” As such, we offer training for the aspiring biblical counselor that leads to certification through ABC. We also offer intermediate to advanced training for seasoned biblical counselors who are looking to further develop their skills. Whether you’re wanting to counsel a friend through hard times or are looking for more extensive training in the context of ministry, we help believers develop the skill set to counsel and support others as a conduit of Christ’s love and compassion.

History of Connection Point
After finding healing through the application of God’s Word in her own life, Connection Point founder Angela Shelton desired to help others do the same. She returned to seminary to pursue a master’s in counseling and, through counseling others in her local church, realized her passion for a biblical counseling ministry outside of the church walls to reach those that weren’t comfortable seeking support services within a church setting.
In August of 2021, Connection Point opened its doors with four counselors in Covington, Georgia, and became an approved training center for the Association of Biblical Counselors. Today, Connection Point has multiple start dates per year for Level 1 training with ABC. Additionally, we are developing curriculum for advanced training in biblical counseling. Our first course, Bridges: Connecting Our Beliefs to Our Practices, meets the requirements for Level 2 certification with ABC. We are excited to soon partner with subject matter experts to create additional curriculum for lay leaders, biblical counselors, and pastors. Connection Point is currently partnered with five churches, and has 12 counselors on staff in two locations.
Connection Point’s Korean Initiative
Among those on staff is Daniel Kim, a gifted teacher who saw a need for biblical counseling in the Korean community. Due to a lack of multilingual counseling services for this area, Kim, who is fluent in both English and Korean, began training the staff of a Korean speaking church in Duluth, Georgia. Since then, CP has extended that support by developing a Korean website and offering counseling services in Korean. We are also developing a Korean curriculum that will train biblical counselors both online and in-person, as well as a trauma curriculum in the Korean language.
